I'm about 50 hours into TotK and nearly finished with the main quest (I just got the "Destroy Ganondorf" quest), but honestly, I think that BotW is the better game. TotK is a game that's full of stuff to do, but like others have said, there's not necessarily a lot of cohesion.

The game is a sequel to botw. So expect it to be handled in a similar manner. As puzzles per game botw and totk are on the same level as older zelda games. But it's because those puzzles are now split that the dungeons aren't going to be as big as prior games. Personally i loved the dungeons in totk.
